After Kisii university students threatened to boycott the exams, they have been postponed to a later date after August elections
Mr. Peter Kuria, the university president, announced the news on Tuesday evening after having a long meeting where they won over the senate.
The university had scheduled the exams to be done on 24th July which was against the students will. Several factors including the lectures’ go slow (strike) and the general elections was used against the senate.
The lectures have been on go slow for 3 weeks now thus the completion of the units has been a challenge to students. With the earlier strike of lectures this year, it affected the session reporting for the May-August semester to a two moth semester. This had made it hard to complete the semester’s syllabus on time.
“We shall sit for our exams after the elections. We have to complete our units before 4th august for us to get ready for our democratic right.” The president said.
The exams will be done on 21st August to 31st August after the election upon it being peaceful.
