The roads especially those connecting the university and the villages where students live have been in bad state for more than one year paralysing easy transport in the area especially during the rainy seasons.

Addressing the students on Wednesday, students leader Don Opiyo said that the county government will gain trust from the students.

"We appreciate the county government under the leadership of Governor James Ongwae for renovating the roads a week after it promised to do so," said Opiyo.

Earlier in the month, the students had threatened to hold peaceful demonstration with aim of pressuring the county Government to renovate the roads.

Cyrus Okerosi also a student leader said that at least students who were affected directly by the poor state of road had been saved from the problem.

"Students coming from the areas that were affected will now access the school easily," he said.

Last week, Kisii County secretary Patrick Lumumba promised that he will ensure the roads are maintained.
