University students in Uasin Gishu County have been encouraged to apply for bursary funds to further their studies.

Briefing the press on Thursday, county deputy governor Daniel Chemno urged university students to seek loans for their studies.

The deputy governor intimated that many students who qualify for university education are at home because they lack school fees.

“I want ask university students to feel free and seek funds from the county and the national government to continue with their studies,” he stated.

Chemno said the county government is focused on improving access to education for all people.

He said that provision of quality and affordable education is among top agendas for the county government. Chemno said that plans to renovate and improve public schools in the county are underway.

Chemno said they will partner with the national government and donors to improve education standards.

On the same note, the county deputy boss called on the private sector to cheap in and help improve the education standards.
