Several students from Kisii University have blamed the institution’s management on delayed medical services due to alleged incompetence by medical employees.
According to majority of them, they had no undergone pain waiting for services due to delay by medical workers to work swiftly on them.
“I have been waiting out here for over three hours now. I do not know my fate and yet my condition is deteriorating. We want action to be taken,” said Hellen Wanjiru, a third year university student.
She said medical workers in the institution mistreats students and ignores them whenever they seek medication contrary to their obligation.
“This is not the first time we are experiencing this problem. They are fond of mishandling us and sometimes ignoring us despite knowing our presence in the premises,” she added.
However, the institution’s head of Medical and Public health services Pauline Nyamwanga defended the institution from the accusations terming them as misplaced and fictitious since all medical officers were working as required.
“I do not think these accusations are true. They are all misplaced since I am always here in person and we normally ensure that students are treated expeditiously,” she said.
She also reiterated of the commitment of the medical department to ensure students get best medical services as required by the law.
