The students are now making a special request to the school lecturers to resume classes citing a lot of wasted time and resources.

The fourth year students feel that they are mostly affected by the strike and fear it may proceed on to affect their attachment and graduation this year.

“We want to make this special request to the lecturers and especially the Maseno University lecturers to be considerate about our future which is at the prick,” said Mercy Kimani a fourth year student.

The students have undertook one semester for almost 8 months something they feel has really affected them both emotionally and financially.

“We have had the longest semester in the history of Maseno, taking more than 8 months to complete a single semester. The 8 months are usually a full academic year according to the school calendar. We were just recovering from that but it seems they want to slap us with another similar experience. When we hear the lecturers are going on strike again this is now worrying,” Kelvin Makilap said.

A section of students stated that the short time they will have to study means they may end up being half-baked graduates.

“We don’t like to go out there half-baked for the job market. We want our lecturers back to class so that we can cover the syllabus in time and avoid rushing the last minute,” Stated Edna Sifuna.
