Led by the institution’s Principal, Prof. Albert Getabu, they encouraged children from orphanage to work hard and change the situation in future.

“We are basically here to encourage these young children to work hard in whichever institutions they are studying. They must bear in mind that this situation will not be permanent because they have a chance to overturn the situation,” said Prof. Getabu.

He said many of those children had potential to perform incredibly well and join good universities in the country and elsewhere, since some of them had done it before.

“They are intellectually capable and I hope they will join good schools after here. Some of them have even performed better before,” said the don.

He called other ‘organizations and companies in the town to support such children and make them not feel neglected.

“We have an obligation to make these young people feel at home. All institutions and companies should invest in these great children. It is very important to do so,” he added.

The Kisii-based don donated Sh200,000 for support of various activities in the orphanage besides donating many goods such as clothing, food and other essential items for the children.
