It is reported that the students are being incited by external forces that want to bring down the university.

Speaking during a press briefing in Thika town, JKUSO chairman Jomo Erick said that the external forces have a key priority to destabilise the peace of the institution. He said they will not sit back and see the inciters invade their peace.

Jomo warned all the distracting parties to keep off JKUAT issues terming it archaic, barbaric and unnecessary for some people to ride behind their problems for personal gain.

He assured the students that the union in partnership with the school administration has set timelines upon which every grievance will be addressed and the university understands the necessity to keep those promises.

The chairman called on all the students to continue with their classes and stop panicking as everything is under control assuring that the university is obliged by the court decision on December 8 and thus appeal for the students to stay calm.

Jomo also sent a powerful message to those involved in the incitement that JKUAT does not need more chaos and further disruptions at the moment.

“We do not take it lightly and it is regrettable that you continue to incite students in the pretence of peaceful demonstrations in order to disrupt our studies,” warned the chairman.

JKUSO vice chairperson Elosy Chebet said that the community and the residents have turned against them whom they had their support before the previous strike.

The Secretary General Victor Marende calmed the parents whose students are schooling in the institution assuring them that the varsity will remain calm as usual.
