Prof. Kosgey who recently took over from Prof. Laban Ayiro said that all workers should report to work on time and only leave when official working hours have ended.

“I am putting on notice all those workers who do not take their work seriously. I want to work with serious people and if you are not serious with your work, I will have to suspend you so that you go home and make up your mind if you really want to work for Moi university o,” Prof. Kosegy said.

The vice-chancellor could not, however, comment widely on the ongoing lecturers’ strike but assured students that his administration is doing all it can to end it.

Learning at the Kesses-based University in Uasin Gishu county has been disrupted alongside other public universities across the country since the lecturers strike that began on March 1.

The lecturers and other non-academic staff are demanding the tabling of a counter offer and implementation of a 2017-2021 Collective Bargaining g Agreement (CBA).
