The new registration system will be rolled-out on Monday.

The investment is expected to enable the taxman collect up to 70 per cent of revenue.

Prior to its implementation, acquiring a logbook would take one up to 30 days.

Contrary to the old system, vehicle owners will now be able to do this in about ten minutes .

According to local media, the development follows successful piloting among motorcycle dealers which has been running since January when 6,792 boda bodas were registered.

A similar system has now been unveiled for vehicles.

An average of 2,000 registrations can be done in a week with the new system.

Fernando Wangila, who is in charge of ICT at NTSA said the exercise makes the work easy as the commission can now register up to 2,000 vehicles including motorcycles.

Mr Wangila said the online registration system was not prone to manipulation like the manual one.

The system is set to benefit Kenyans as the Judiciary and the police will be able to verify the validity of licenses.
