Versatile Gor Mahia winger Baron Oketch is inching closer to joining Bandari FC after dumping Ulinzi Stars where he has been on loan since the January transfer window.
He is currently training with the Mbaraki-based side. The former Western Stima player joined K'Ogalo during the 2016 June transfer window after his impressive performance with the power-men.However, things have never worked for him in Gor Mahia as he struggled for game time, something that prompted his January loan move to Ulinzi. While confirming the development, Ulinzi FC chair Eric Oloo said that the player requested to be released."Baron is no longer with us, he wrote us a letter requesting us that we release him and we granted him his wish. He joined on a one-year loan deal but we cannot keep a player who doesn't want to be with us. I don't know of his whereabouts but I can confirm that he is no longer an Ulinzi Stars player," said Oloo as quoted by futaa.com.Should he seal a move to join the Paul Nkata-coached side, the former Kakamega High School student may be the first big-name signing by the club during the current transfer window.
