Veterinary Simba has tipped dairy farmers in the area on the importance of breeding their dairy stock through A.I. as opposed to using bulls, saying sharing of bulls among dairy cows compromised the quality of calves given birth to.

Speaking at the Village during an A.I field services, Veterinary Simba warned farmers that sharing of bulls to breed their dairy cows not only led to poor quality of the calves through cross-breeding, but also provide a medium for spreading veneral diseases among dairy cows served by the same bull.

"As a Veterinary Technologist, I advise dairy farmers to shun the old ways of breeding their dairy cows using bulls which serve more than one cow, threatening the quality of their calves and milk production," stated Simba.

The technologist also disclosed that having dairy cows served by bulls compromised the quality of milk and calves due to chances of cross-breeding among cows of the same genes and generation.

He challenged dairy farmers to go in for new technological services while breeding their stock if they expected high returns from their dairy farming investments.
