Police arrested Jackson Kibor, a prominent politician, for mishandling his firearm.
This follows a video clip, that circulated on social media last week, showing Kibor shooting at his son over alleged land dispute.
The veteran politician defended himself before the police, saying he shot in self-defense after his son, Ezekiel and his three other brothers wanted to attack him.
The son however dismissed his dad's calims, saying the father wanted to kill him.
The Uasin Gishu-based veteran politician and farmer was taken to Eldoret police station, Tuesday.
Eldoret East OCPD Samwel Mutunga said Kibor will be charged with misuse of firearm.
Kibor and his four sons have been engaging in dispute over 1,250 acres of land in Uasin Gishu.
