Former politician and farmer Jackson Kibor was on Wednesday charged with two counts, threatening to kill his son Ezekiel and refusal to have his fingerprints taken by officers at the Eldoret police station.
The veteran politician denied the charges when he appeared before Eldoret Resident Magistrate Harrison Barasa.
The court released him on a cash bail of Ksh80, 000 or a bond of Ksh100, 000.
The judge further ordered Kibor to be escorted to the police station for his fingerprints to be taken.
The matter will be heard on 4th April 2017.
Police arrested the prominent politician on Tuesday for mishandling his firearm. This was after a video clip that circulated on social media last week showed Kibor shooting at his son over alleged land dispute.
He defended himself before the police saying he shot in self-defense after Ezekiel and his three other brothers wanted to attack him.
The son however dismissed his dad’s claims saying the father wanted to kill him.
