Residents of Bisan Hargeisa, Garissa on Thursday evening were left in shock, following the killing of two people in the area under unclear circumstances.
According to a local daily, the two; veterinary officer and boda-boda rider are likely to have been murdered as part of revenge for the last year's killing of over 100 camels. The two were later identified as Issa Ali, a local veterinary officer and Bisahr Hillow, a boda boda rider. Reports indicate that the deceased were waylaid and butchered by suspected Kenya Police Reservists who are suspected to hail from Mwingi. A witness, who spoke to the local daily, said that he witnessed gunshots after the vet and some herders engaged in a heated argument over undisclosed reasons.Abdullahi Abdi said that he got a call from the heard informing him about what had transport two hours after he had parted ways with the victims. He said that he contacted the area OCS, but upon arrival, they found the two dead.“On arrival, we found the bodies of the two who had gunshot wounds. The vet’s body had deep panga cuts on his legs, an indication he might have been tortured before he was killed," he said.
