The Kitui West parliamentary elect Edith Vethi Nyenze has called on unity among Kamba politicians ahead of the 2022 general election.
Addressing the residents during a tour of the constituency after being declared winner in the by-election conducted on Monday, Vethi said Ukambani must unite to make an impact in 2022.
She said leaders from the region will continue to be treated as flower girls unless leaders unite.
Vethi said disunity is to blame for poverty and poor development in the larger Ukambani region.
“We must come together, work together and support each other moving forward if we are to make an impact in 2022,” Vethi said.
The Wiper politician said Ukambani has able and experienced leaders but disunity is what is denying the region chance to ascend to top leadership.
She urged the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to spearhead unity among local leaders and residents.
Vethi said Ukambani will automatically produce a president in 2022 if they get to work together.
The Wiper MP urged Kamba’s to rally behind Kalonzo in 2022 stating he has the interest of the country at heart.
Vethi pledged to work for the people and fulfill development promises she made during her campaigns.
She promised to focus on education, health, roads, empowerment and security.
The Wiper politician clinched the Kitui West seat garnering 14,372 votes.
