Two Jubilee allied legislators from Uasin Gishu county have dared their colleagues from the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) to make good their threats not to participate in the vetting of the Cabinet Secretaries nominees.The two, Silas Tiren of Moiben and Ainabkoi's William Chepkut said the vetting process will go on with or without the NASA MPs.Speaking in Eldoret town moments after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the first batch of his Cabinet Secretaries nominees, the two legislators said Jubilee party has the numbers in the National Assembly that will enable them to go on with the vetting process.“Being very loyal and since it's our constitutional mandate to vet the CS nominees, we are ready to discharge our duties so that the country can move on. I am saying this because we've heard our colleagues from NASA saying they won't be part of the voting exercise,” noted Mr. Chepkut.“As Jubilee, we've numbers in basically all committees and what is needed for the vetting exercise to go on is a quorum which we can easily attain even without the NASA legislators,” added Tiren.The MPs however challenged those allied in the opposition to abandon their plans to boycott the vetting for the benefit of the country's progress.“Elections are over and what our colleagues in NASA need to do is work for Kenyans and part of that work is vetting the CS's and the PS's so that we ensure we have the right people in the right places since our work is basically oversight the executive and it would be better for them to be part of this process,” Tiren reiterated.NASA legislators have in the past said they would not participate in the CS's vetting exercise on grounds that they don't recognize the legitimacy of President Uhuru Kenyatta.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
