His remarks come after it was alleged that the Kisii university students protested against the increase of the tuition fee over the last two weeks, a report that Akama denied as false information.

Speaking on Wednesday in Kisii University, Akama said the tuition fee remains as it used to be but said the institution was forced to have an online program to be used in paying the fee to secure students when they pay tuition fee and for delivery of goods and service.

“We heard allegations that the institution has increased the tuition fee but those are false reports and the fee remains to be the same,” said Akama.

Akama also assured university parents that the institution has put measures in place to make sure it will always offer quality education for their children.
