Deputy President William Ruto has become a punching bag for opposition leaders after he made a scathing attach to NASA chief Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Sunday, Ruto called Raila a dictator who cannot accept defeat after elections.
The DP was responding to a remark by Raila during an address in the UK when he insinuated that Jubilee stole his victory in 2017.
On Monday, Ruto’s remark sparked fire within opposition luminaries.
Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi launched an onslaught against the DP saying he should forget the presidency.
“We know he wants to become President in 2022; I want to remind him the history of this country is clear. Vice Presidents never become president here, save for Daniel arap Moi, so he must know 2022 will not be an easy year for him,” Atandi said.
Since the era of retired president Daniel Moi, all those who have served as Vice Presidents (now Deputy President) have never inherited their bosses.
