Kenya's international soccer star Victor Mugubi Wanyama is a man celebrated at his English club Tottenham Hotspur.
The youthful football player, it has emerged, is a darling of many people in England and that his own soccer mates have given him a name to show his closeness to them.
During an interview at Citizen TV with Jeff Koinange, the soccer legend said his teammates have nicknamed him The Beast because of his aggressiveness both in training and in the field.
"Yeah, I have a nickname," he said during the TV show.
"They call me The Beast, and at first I did not know why they chose that for me. But I came to realize later that they associated it with my aggressiveness in the field."
He said he enjoys his time at the English team and has never regretted joining the English Premier League side.
Wanyama is among Tottenham Hospur's best players having joined the league of the team's best goal scorers.
He is a defensive midfielder who played for Southampton Football Club before joining Tottenham Hotspurs on a record 12.5 million Starling Pounds.
He says his day begins at 5am where he usually joins is teammates for training. He described the training sessions as "intense".
