Reports from the State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu concerning the cancellation of President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to Meru and Tharaka Nithi county has led to an uproar in the areas.

The residents from the two counties have been angered by the new deveopment.

While speaking to the media on Monday, the residents said the move was a clear indication that Jubilee does not value the region despite the fact that they vote in large numbers for them in 2013.

They have thus said it is time for them to consider the National Super Alliance (NASA), which they feel may look into their welfare.

"It is okay, not the first time, Uhuru has done development in opposition zones than here in Meru, all he does is launch mega projects in Central and Western, when will he reward Meru? I think we were used," said Abel Mutembei, a Meru resident.

Meru region has long been known to be a Jubilee stronghold, but several twists have been witnessed, with some of the region's top businessmen coming out to finance NASA politics in the area.
