Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua became the man of the moment after he caused laughter when President Uhuru Kenyatta met a section of leaders from Ukambani ahead of the fresh polls.
Mutua, Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader, left the head of State in stitches when he spoke about his prowess to ask for ‘something small’.
The county boss said: Rais tunasema kitu ni vile tunaitisha. Na wengine wetu tunajua kuitisha. Hatunyimwi(laughter) Na Kitu ni vile unaomba. Na hii kiti,” he said. Na hii Kitu unajua kuomba sana nakujua (Uhuru laughed. Na kitu ya siasa ya Urais. Utaomba na Utapata. Na tutasimama na wewe kidete.
The video of the lawmakers at State House since gone viral with mixed reactions from different factions.
In the meantime, Machakos Governor and other leaders from Ukambani have pledged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks his second term in office. The leaders have promised to rally the electorate behind him until he ascends to power when that time comes. Uhuru will be looking forward to locking horns with National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga following the nullification of his win.
