On 9 February 2017, the two leaders had a tough day after residents of Emali kept heckling at them while they were trying to calm them.

Efforts of the governor, who was the senator at that time, to calm the crowd proved futile.

Sonko continued with his speech but the crowd kept yelling at him.

Ruto’s chances of getting votes from Ukambani hangs in the balance as long as Kalonzo remains in the race.

The Former Vice President has insisted that he has what it takes to ascend to power when that time comes.

Kalonzo’s presidential dream is not guaranteed considered the pact between President Uhuru and William Ruto as well the weakening relationship with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The Ukambani political kingpin has continued to assure his people that he will deliver the seat to them in 2022.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, however, remains one of the greatest threats to Kalonzo’s presidency.

He has also made it clear that he will contest for the seat.

The two will definitely share the Kamba votes unless they agree on the way forward.
