Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho expressed disappointment when General Service Unit (GSU) officers attached to presidential security team, harassed and blocked him from attending an event at Mtongwe.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was officially relaunching the Mtongwe ferry, Monday, when Joho was blocked from being part of it.
The officers stopped his motorcade at the Nyali Bridge, causing huge traffic snarl-ups.
Angry Joho wondered why he was being harassed and forced to change route, saying he was an elected Kenyan leader, with freedom of movement.
He marked some of the officers who harassed him, saying Uhuru's term would end, and there will be no more such harassment.
Joho also said there was no need of the officers threatening his life, saying: "Mwanamume amezaliwa siku moja my friend, mwanamume amezaliwa siku moja na atakufa siku moja tu.''
