Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has failed residents of the Coastal county hence cannot be a good President, Senator Hassan Omar has said.
The senator said that among the 2022 presidential hopefuls, Joho is the least deserving candidate because his ideologies, qualities and ability are inadequate.
Omar was speaking in Likoni on Sunday when he attended an Iftar dinner organised by Jubilee leaders.
“Some people chest-thump, yet no one has benefited from their leadership,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.
Omar told Joho to improve the livelihoods of his electorate first.
He slammed the governor for calling Cord leader Raila Odinga to officiate the issuance of Sh6,000 bursary cheques, saying a candidate with leadership qualities could not do that.
Joho has declared his interest to run for president in 2022.
