The National Super Alliance (NASA) has yet again claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is deploying military in selected areas in the country in a bid to secure power in the August 8, polls.
These claims come in a day after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga claimed that 42 top security officers were being prepared to be paraded as returning officers in next month polls.
Speaking on behalf of NASA coalition secretaries on Friday, nominated Senator and ODM Secretary general Agnes Zani claimed that Jubilee is deploying military in some parts of the country in an effort to militarise the polls.
"We have in our possession details of preparations of troops from the Lanet and Gilgil units to be unleashed on citizens in Kisii, Migori, and Homa bay while units from Nakuru are to be deployed in Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega, and Bungoma," said Zani.
Zani further questioned the move to deploy the military against the law as it is stipulated.
"The deployment of a country's military troop by a president against a civilian population has no place in the democracy. The laws of Kenya are clear on what the military can and cannot do and the circumstances under which the president can deploy the military he must seek the approval of parliament that has not been done," she added.
Finally, Zani urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to come out clear and defend his stands on their latest claims that he is deploying military on the civilian population.
