Suna East MP Junet Muhammed has slammed president Uhuru Kenyatta, for allegedly complaining, as to why Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is referred to as 'Sultan'.
He said the name has no hidden meaning as he perceives, but rather, means Joho is a working governor.
According to the ODM lawmaker, Uhuru is usually referred to as 'Muthamaki', when he visits his home counties of Kiambu, and the entire Central region.
"I want to clarify for him, one thing. I saw him complaining about it this morning, that governor Joho is called Sultan. You know us Muslims, we call Sultan, somebody who is a serious leader,'' Junet said, Monday.
''The way his people call him Muthamaki. I'm told when he goes to Nyeri, they call him Muthamaki. So when we are in Coast, as Muslims, we call Joho Sultan. So he should accept he's a Muthamaki in Nyeri, and Joho is a Sultan in Mombasa,'' he added.
