Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has hit back at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto after he was temporarily held by police and blocked from accessing a venue where Raila Odinga was on Sunday.

Miguna who supports Odinga's NASA coalition agenda was stopped by more than 30 police officers in Mombasa, led by Mtwapa OCPD, along the Mombasa-Malindi highway.

Odinga was leading a People's Assembly convention at Kikambala, Kilifi County and Miguna was en route to the venue before he was blocked under unclear circumstances.A day later (Monday), Miguna tweeted: "Sunday, 17 December 2017: ILLEGITIMATE USURPERS of power Uhuru Kenyatta and William Samoei Ruto used more than 50 heavily ARMED GOONS, set up roadblocks in Mombasa, illegally detained 1 unarmed #NRM General for hours & prevented him from attending The People's Assembly at Kikambala, Kilifi. What does it show? Desperate, weak & crumbling despots."
