Supporters of the National Super Alliance (NASA) heckled at Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua while on a campaign trail to drum up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto ahead of the fresh election.

The hostile crowd kept interrupting the governor’s speech as he tried to outline reasons why Uhuru is the best bet for the nation’s top seat.

The lawmaker later took to his social media account and called upon Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and back President Uhuru for his second term in office in order to complete the projects he had started.

“October 17 remains the date for the election and I urge all patriotic Kenyans to abide by this date and allow for the true voice of the people to be heard through their votes. The Kenyan economy is losing Sh1 billion daily during this political limbo and we must move on,“ he wrote, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.

The vocal governor also warned leaders against holding the nation at ransom for their selfish interests. He reminded Kenyans to examine the agenda of both Jubilee and NASA before casting their votes.
