The school girls complained about several issues.

They have never done any practical, the school doesn’t have a fence, they don’t attend any interschool social interactions (funkies), they don’t have fresh water (they use river water for everything), they are given little food, always eat cabbage as their diet and they don’t participate in sports.

Lack of entertainment at their school was also raised an issue.

They pay for medical fees but cater for their medical bills when they fall sick. The school changes teachers every term.

However, the students took an initiative to walk to the Ministry of Education to air their grievances after failing to get the attention of the school administration.

Kenyans on social media had varied views concerning this case. While some people listened to the student’s difficulties, some were keen listening to how they talked expressing their cries.

Most people criticized the language the students used in airing their cries.

Sheng is not a language taught in school, and so many didn’t expect the students to use the language.

However, many felt that it was good for them to express themselves in a language they understand most for their cries to be heard by many.
