Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali on Friday delivered another shocker to veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga in Kisii.
Mohamed Ali did not shy away from openly voicing his support for Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 presidential election.
''I am a person who sees very far. I have done my calculations and you can see how things are. The Swahili people say if you want a beautiful woman, start with marrying the mother. Who is the mother? The mother is here,'' Mohamed Ali said to a cheering crowd while pointing at Deputy President William Ruto.
His words leave no doubt that he will not support Raila Odinga in 2022.
The former journalist has been moving with the deputy president fueling speculation that he could be on Ruto's list of people he intends to unleash in the vote-rich coastal region ahead of 2022.
Pundits contend that his open declaration has caused jitters in Raila's camp as it signals the end of his command of the coast.
The Nyali MP fell out with the former prime minister after claims that he had been shortchanged in the Nyali parliamentary nominations in favour of Joho's relative.
