Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has questioned the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)'s performance since Archbishop Eliud Wabukala took over as the chairman.
Speaking when Wabukala appeared before a parliamentary committee on Wednesday to report on the commission's progress, Kilonzo said it is clear EACC has not done much to protect public funds and resources.
"Allow me to show you why Kenyans are extremely pessimistic about your commission and think that your war is on small fish and you are allowing big fish to run away," Kilonzo said.
The senators were evidently not happy with Wabukala's performance.
Kilonzo said several government officials have been receiving bribes hence the need for the anti-graft agency to step up its efforts against curbing the vice.
He said there are better things Kenyans want to hear from Wabukala than what he was saying on EACC's progress in its mandate.
He questioned why Wabukala has not done much to fight corruption while quoting several scandals that have rocked the nation.
"We have better news on corruption from the media than from the commission. The newspapers will tell us about Kenya Pipeline, NCPB, and NYS suspects," Kilonzo concluded.
