Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua is a man with many faces. On September 6, 2013, Mutua showcased his rare comedy skills when he appeared on Churchill Live show at NTV.
When asked whether he can try comedy, the county boss admitted that it was not easy. He left the crowd in stitches when he asked for assurance that they will laugh at his jokes. ‘I hope mtacheka, “Mutua said before he moved forward to crack his jokes. Mutua left the crowd in stitches after this short narration.
He cleared his throat and started: “I will tell you a story I told people when I was in the US. You know somebody left this country and went to the US for a trip and left his brother at home amchungie paka. When he was out there he called his brother and said how is my cat? The brother said ooh the cat is dead and he said you know bro that is not the way we break bad news, we are Africans," he posed.
“When I call the first day you are supposed to say the cat is stuck on the roof. Then the second day you say while the cat was stuck on the roof imesonga imeruka juu ya mti. The third day you say we called the fire brigade lakini imeanguka tumeipeleka hosipitali. The fourth-day unasema paka imeanguka imeenda ICU and the last day unaseme behold the cat has died” he concluded leaving the crowd in stitches.
