President Uhuru Kenyatta [Photo/BBC]Jubilee leader and continuing President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a plea to all candidates that did not manage to win and were not happy with the elections to take a constitutionally legal approach.

He further urged law enforcement to exercise restraint and protect citizens peacefully protesting during this period which has seen a lot of unlawful protests.On Monday, Uhuru Kenyatta spoke to the Assumption of Office Committee on these issues from his Harambee House office.

“I appeal to all those who have rejected the election outcome to realize that we are all Kenyans. I extend a hand of peace and friendship to them. Police are ready to offer protection during peaceful protections and those aggrieved should realize they do not need my permission or that of Jubilee to hold peaceful protests," he said as reported by the Daily Nation.

The President also warned citizens that the government does not condone any loss of lives nor the destruction of property due to violence.

“Many Kenyans are desiring to go back to their normal lives. They do not want violence demonstrations,” he said.
