Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has said she is ready to battle it out with Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua after the latter's August 8, 2017 poll victory's nullification.
Speaking outside the Court of Appeal on Friday, Ndeti said she is confident that she will beat Mutua hands down in the forthcoming Machakos gubernatorial by-election.
Ndeti said she believes the people of Machakos will not let her down the way they did the last time, adding that her victory was stolen.
“I am ready for the ground and the ground is ready for me. The people of Machakos are ready to do what they did last time. I am telling Dr. Alfred Mutua, let us not waste time, let us go down to the ground and square this thing fully,” Ndeti said.
Mutua, on his part, has described the loss of his seat as a small hurdle.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader has vowed to beat Ndeti again.
He said his win reflects the will of the residents of Machakos County.
The by-election is expected to be a showdown considering the rivalry between Mutua and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka who is backing Ndeti.
