Deputy president William Ruto has taken a swipe at the National Super Alliance (Nasa), after it unveiled a team that seeks to form Kenya's fifth government, come August 8, general elections

In the line-up, ODM party leader Raila Odinga is the presidential flag-bearer, that will face president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is Raila's running mate.In case they win, Musalia Mudavadi of the ANC would be the Premier Cabinet Secretary, deputised by Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula and CCM's Isaac Rutto, who would be in charge of Public Service and Foreign Affairs, and the State Department of Devolution and Planning, respectively.

Hivisasa reported this immediately the announcement was made, Thursday April 27, 2017, at the Uhuru Park grounds.

However, speaking in Thika, Ruto said the Jubilee team faced the current Nasa team in the 2013 elections, and floored them, to clinch power.

"I told them they have no plan. Is this what they have been taking to much time to name? I thought they had gone to import candidate, only to find out they are the same people. This time, we will beat them by 70+1 votes and not 50+1 as we did in 2013,'' Ruto told a crowd in Kiambu county, same day Nasa made the announcement.
