The ODM deputy Leader and his supporters brought business at the office to a standstill for hours as they demanded for the certificate.

The firebrand county boss lamented that something fishy was cooking but reminded his supporters to remain calm before the issuance of the certificate. The governor challenged the commission to keep the certificate saying that the residents of Mombasa had already spoken.

“Kama pia wanaona hio certificate itawafaa wao pia wakae nayo. The people of Mombasa have spoken. Walivyokuwa wana tally at the national tallying center the first county ambayo ilitajwa ni Mombasa na wakataja hesabu ya Mombasa. But what surprises us is kule wanahesabu lakini hapa hawana,” said Joho.

The governor faulted the government for attempting to bar him from defending his seat following an investigations into his academic papers.

The county boss found himself in trouble after he publicly differed with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The governor lamented that the government was doing little to protect the residents from land grabbing and other political injustices.
