Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the hearts of Machakos residents when he allowed them to listen to his conversation with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka during a rally.
Speaking from Germany where he had taken his wife for treatment, Kalonzo assured the residents and entire NASA team that he was behind them.
Kalonzo said there would be no rerun after the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta's August 8, 2017 election.
The crowd cheered as Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and MP Junet Mohammed watched.
The opposition leaders had maintained they would not return to the ballot after the Jubilee party's election victory nullification.
They had insisted on the restructuring of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure free and fair polls.
The NASA leaders called for the removal of IEBC's CEO Ezra Chiloba and other commissioners from office.
The leaders alleged that Chiloba and his team had doctored results that saw NASA lose the elections.
Chiloba, however, remained in office until he was given three months leave few days to the election.
Raila has since joined hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta in mending broken relationships in the famous calls for handshakes.
The two have been seen together on several occasions after months of political tension in the nation.
