Vihiga United assistant coach Francis Xavier is confident his boys are up to the task of getting promoted to top-flight football by the end of the season.

Xavier hailed the team for downing a stubborn Bidco United away at thee Thika Municipal Stadium in Thika.

He has urged the team to remain focused as they prepare to take on league leaders Ushuru FC ahead of their fate-determining clash at Mumias Sports Complex on November 25.

"The boys did well, it was a great test of character and mental strength and luckily we managed to get the three points. We have one final match to go and I call on my players to maintain focus, it's out last hurdle and we have to be relaxed, focused and give our best," he said.

Vihiga downed Ushuru 3-2 in the first leg.
