Drama was witnessed at Luanda market, Vihiga county, Tuesday, when a businessman alleged to have stolen a cockerel in Siaya county, tried to sell it.
The man attempted to sell the cock four times to different buyers but the cock ‘rejected’ to be sold and stuck on him.
“After they had reached a common price, the cockerel did not want to change hands, but instead refused to be changed,” a witness is quoted by Crazy Monday.
The man, known as William, is said to be a popular chicken seller who has been in the business for a long time.
When asked why the cockerel was behaving in the unusual manner, William said he did not know why.
A neighbour to the owner of the cock who was attracted by the incident was able to identify it and alerted the owner.
When the owner arrived at the scene, the cockerel gladly accepted him causing the crowd at the market to cheer.
Efforts of William trying to escape were unsuccessful as he was confronted and disciplined.
