Modern Coast Rangers suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of hosts Vihiga United, going down by a solitary goal in the National Super League (NSL) match played at Mumias Complex Stadium on Sunday. After seeing its hopes of playing in the national tier this season thwarted by Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) who reinstated Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth, Vihiga could not relent but pick three points, thanks to Patrick Okullo's lone strike. The defeat halted Rangers unbeaten run this season having started the campaign impressively with two draws and one defeat as they seek to better last season’s performance where they finished 16th in the 20-team table standings. The outcome means Rangers remain fifth on five points from four matches, four points adrift of leaders GFE 105 who have a game to play.
