Vihiga United custodian Franklin Mwenda is off for trials at Hong Kong Premier league side Wofoo Tai-Po in China.

The second choice goalkeeper will leave the country Saturday 11 for Hong Kong where he is expected to begin trials with the club.

Tai-Po currently stand second on the standings of Boc Life Hong Kong Premier League having garnered 11 points behind leaders Kitchen FC who boast of 13 points.

According to Futaa, Tai-Po Team Manager Lee Ching Kin is organising the travel to Hong Kong.

"Any player in Africa dreams of joining professional rank. I'll work hard to make the dream come true," Mwenda said.

The player has been wished well by coach Edward Manoah.

"Any coach in the world would want to see his player play professional football at any level and I am happy for Mwenda. I wish him well in the trials," Manoah said as reported by Futaa.

The keeper was relegated to second-choice after the club landed the services of former AFC Leopards custodian Barnabas Tiema in the June transfer window.
