Vihiga United, the new entrants to the Kenya premier league, KPL, have come up with new ways to ensure that they not only win matches but stay in the top flight league.

Speaking on local television talk show, coach Edward Manoah, said they will seek to shift their home matches from Mumias Complex to Bukhungu stadium.

He said that the team will aim at retaining key players ahead of the new season.

"We are going to fight to keep hold of our players & we are also going to fight to keep our (KPL) status," added Manoah. He will add players to the team but not go the trials way.

The Executive Committee chair Mr. Indimuli Kahi, has advised the technical team to allow residents of Vihiga watch their playing sessions and those who are talented will be picked in the squad.

The club is fully owned by the county government of Vihiga and they entirely use the resources of the county government.

The club is set to have its first KPL match against Mathare United in early February.
