Eng. Moraa was among the class of 2014 graduates from the institution where she was admitted to the Ivy League University after obtaining a scholarship when she was at Kenya High in 2008.

According to her father, Jackson Abaya, the young lady was always on top of her class something that warranted her incredible performance in the class of civil engineering.

“My daughter has been extraordinary since her birth. What we are celebrating today did not come on a silver platter and am really pleased with her,” said the jubilant father.

He added: “She will be a role model because it sounds special that she graduated with first class honours. I hope that this region will produce more engineers in future.”

Moraa challenged the youths especially the girl child to venture into fields that have been dominated by their male counterparts.

“At first it was weird for me when I was told that I will be joining class of Civil Engineering although I had passion in Aeronautic engineering. Nonetheless both are appealing. As women, we should not fear venturing into traditionally male dominated fields,” she said.

She promised to set aside time to motivate young girls in the village secondary schools to work extra hard so that they can change the perception that ladies can’t venture into certain academic fields.
