Bosanga residents in Kisii have urged the government to step in and help with the increasing cases of insecurity after thieves stole electrical appliances.

This affected services at the nearby tea buying center, which depended on the electric connection for packing of the product especially in the evening or at night.

According to the villagers, sometimes the picking trucks delay picking their produce in good time, only to show up in the middle of the night.

Their work has always been easy, but with the vandalism, the exercise has been severely affected.

The thieves are said to have stolen the wires and bulbs to the buying center, sinking the whole area into total darkness. They then stole other goods including frames and iron sheets, before taking off.

However, the suspects were later arrested after investigations by the police in conjunction with area village elders. One of the suspects, however, managed to escape, with the one nabbed being underage.

The parents pleaded that they will pay fines and take care of any destructions that might have been caused.
