Speaking in Kisii town Kenya Power South Nyanza regional manager David Mbugu said is quite dangerous for the residents to be connected with electricity without Kenya Power’s knowledge and permission.

Mr Mbugu noted that the electricity blackouts happening in Kisii town time and again is because of illegal power connections.

“Blackouts happens in Kisii town and other parts of the county every time because of illegal connection, I urge residents to be careful over the connections that are done by bogus KPLC officials,” said Mbugu.

Mbugu also urged Kisii residents to visit KPLC offices if they want electricity connection without going through shortcuts that end up in power blackouts now and again.

“Whoever need electricity should come to our office in Kisii town, and we will process your application and connect you with electricity,” added Mbugu.
