This, Viwandani MCA Eunice Muriithi, said was triggered by the fact that most of the operators are too preoccupied in looking for money at the expense of other activities.

She traversed her ward and parts of Naivasha constituency talking to the operators; a voting bloc she believes is underestimated but is among the best voters who vote in large numbers.

"These boys are on the road daily with some lacking time to visit registration centres and I felt this was the best way of reaching to them before tomorrow's dateline," she said.

She appealed to other leaders to intensify voter sensitisation as the D-day approached so as to help the Independence Electoral and Boundaries Commission oversee a successful process.

"As much as it is the responsibility of all of us to spearhead voter sensitization exercise, its we leaders that should be on the forefront to encourage our people to embrace it because we will need these votes come 2017," she added.

There were 124 new voters on Monday after the MCA took up the initiative of personally walking around encouraging the operators to embrace the exercise.
