Viwandani Ward Representative Eunice Mureithi said that the money would be used to improve other facilities in the ward which are in deplorable state.

She added that public bathrooms in the Ward were also in a deplorable condition.

She noted that residents had been complaining over poor state of houses and lack of sanitary facilities like toilets.

“Nakuru government has pledged Sh20 million to improve state of county estate houses and also construct new toilets for the Viwandani locals,” she told the press on Tuesday.

The MCA noted that Sh5 million had already been allocated to construction of new public toilets in the ward.

“Viwandani residents have been finding it hard to access clean toilets following the collapse of those that had been constructed by the Municipa council, but now they will be a happy lot,” she said.

She also said that a part of the money would be used to improve sewerage systems noting that it was one of the major sanitation challenges facing the people.

Meanwhile, the MCA wanted the county government to also improve state of roads in the Ward.

Mureithi observed that some of the roads connecting the area were rendered impassable during rainy seasons.
