Vodafone Ghana CEO Yolanda Zoleka Cuba [Phone/MyJoyOnline.com]
As Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore continues with his sick leave, the telco is looking at possible replacements.
According to reports, Collymore has been under fire over claims of corruption and abuse of his executive powers.
As a result the Safaricom board is said to be interviewing several candidates with thoughts of a possible replacement.
The company has so far interviewed five candidate including; Head of Consumer Business Sylvia Mulinge, Head of Enterprise Unit Rita Okuthe, Head of Corporate Affairs Steve Chege, Vodafone Ghana’s Yolanda Zoleka and the current acting CEO Sateesh Kamath.
The company announced that Collymore would be taking a sick leave and reports also revealed that the CEO has been battling with Leukemia. He is currently in London receiving treatment and has not yet revealed when he will return.
Among the five candidates Vodafone's Yolanda Zoleka is said to be the most likely to secure the position.
Yolanda has been at the company since January 2014 and the board is said to be announcing her appointment soon.
