Opposition leader Raila Odinga has urged members of Kuria community to vote for him as a block since they come from Nyanza region.
Odinga who made reference to Central Kenya’s tendency of voting one of their ‘own’ said Nyanza regions should not vote for an ‘outsider’.
Speaking at Isibania on Thursday, the ODM leader said the former Nyanza province was capable of producing the head of state should they vote as a block.
“Kuria is in Nyanza and more often you see our brothers voting one of their own. It is sad that we scatter votes by voting people who have discriminated us for all this time,” he said.
Odinga added. “It will be important that this time you all focus on sending someone from home to state house. We have an opportunity which we should not gamble with.”
He was on the final voter mobilization in Nyanza region that saw him also tour Kisumu, Nyamira and Kisii Counties.
