The politician defied all odds in 2013 polls to clinch the seat through little known PDP party and is now bullish that he is going to repeat the same in 2017.

According to Mr Ondiek, party is not an important issue in modern-day politics as long as one has the desire to lead, something he claims he has shown to the residents of Miwani Ward in Muhoroni Sub-County.

"The residents here voted for me despite the fact that am not in ODM, the party that is very popular here. I always believe that someone can serve his people irrespective of his party affiliation. I have done a lot for my people and I hope that they will vote for me come 2017 irrespective of the party am going to use," said Mr Ondiek amid optimism of a win.

However, he said that the fact he is not in ODM should not be used to mean that he doesn't support Raila Odinga's Presidential ambition.

"I am one of the serious supporters of Raila and it is my wish that he wins the 2017 election. We are going to mobilize for him support on the ground to ensure that he wins', said the MCA.
